The consciousness, what we are and who we are in this world and the greater universe are concepts that are continuously thought about and researched throughout time. Inspired by the artist Mark Rothko, I wanted to create a similar emotional response to my work, representing emotions not through symbolic meaning, but through colour and composition. Thinking about time and space, can trigger uncertainties and emotions that one does not always want to confront. I dreamt about this piece before I created it – it comes from a truly liminal space of mine.
